About Our Church

Greetings!

We invite you to worship with us at Christ the King Lutheran Church. Christ the King Lutheran Church has been serving the Lower Richland Community since it was founded as a mission in 1963. We are a community of faith that finds strength and hope for the challenges of life in our Living Lord. We are bound by a common need to have our faith renewed through worship, Christian education, and community outreach. We celebrate weekly communion for the baptized.

We support local ecumenical ministries. We are in partnership with approximately eleven thousand Lutheran congregations, twenty-eight Lutheran colleges and universities, eight seminaries [including one in this city], four hundred and fifty worldwide missionaries [including a missionary from our congregation], and Lutheran World Relief, one of the largest non-profit social service networks in the USA and the world. You are cordially invited to join with us in serving the community, the nation, and the world.

Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday. If you are interested in this faith community or would like to speak with the pastor, please call (803)776-3050. After hours you are welcome to leave a message and we will return your call.

What We Believe:

We believe that God the Father is our Creator. Jesus Christ is our Savior, and the Holy Spirit is our Sanctifier who brings us to newness of life.

We accept Holy Scriptures as the divinely inspired record of God's redemptive act in Christ.

We teach that all people are sinners and that a person is saved only by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

We define the Church as the fellowship of those who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Church is essential to Christian life and growth.

We celebrate two sacraments within our church as the God-given means for penetrating our lives with his love and grace. They are Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.

We live, not according to a formula of "do's" and "don'ts",but in the true freedom of Christian love and responsibility.

Sunday School 09:30 A.M. Sunday
Holy Communion for the baptized 10:45 A.M. Sunday
